Tribal Rangers

Pechanga's Tribal Rangers ensure the safety, security, trust and protection of the tribal members and visitors to Pechanga while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Established in 1996 to provide direct security services to tribal members, residents and visitors of the Pechanga Reservation, the mission of the Department of Public Safety Tribal Rangers is to protect, preserve, respect and serve the Pechanga Band.

Tribal Rangers complete ongoing training, and maintain high visibility in proactive policing and community involvement. Our security services enhance and improve the quality of life within our community.

Administration Department

The Administrative Department consists of the Director of Public Safety, Lieutenant, Investigator and Administrative Assistant. Normal Administrative business hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Communications Department

The Pechanga Tribal Dispatch Department is a round-the-clock operation with the responsibility of supporting Patrol Rangers and the Pechanga Fire Department. Our Communications Department is a fully modern and operational dispatch center.

Investigations Department

The Investigative Unit consists of one full-time Investigator. He is responsible for conducting investigations of serious incidents reported to the department.

Patrol Division

Our Patrol Division employs a total of twelve Tribal Rangers whose primary responsibility includes protection of life, property and the tribal assets of the Band. With a rapidly growing staff, the department promotes and maintains order and safety for the reservation.

Reserves

Our Reserve unit is responsible for working special events, pow-wows, parades, festivals, traffic control, surveillance details and other tribal events, as will as adding additional officers when manpower is needed for emergency situations.

Color Guard

The Pechanga Tribal Color Guard consists of four Tribal Rangers. Two of the four consist of flag bearers, flanked by two additional rangers with ceremonial rifles. The color guard represents the Pechanga Band in special events.
